CLAT Application Form 2019:  CLAT is one of the most popular entrance tests among the student seeking admissions in various law colleges of India. Exam dates for CLAT 2019 will be released soon. CLAT 2019 will be held in May 2019 and for application, notification will also be released in January 2019.

CLAT is an all India common entrance exam conducted on the basis of rotation by 19 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India to offer admissions to the students seeking admission to their various Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) degree programs such as BA LLB (Hons), B.Sc LLB (Hons), B.Com LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSW LLB (Hons) and LLM programs. Candidates must fill their application form before the due date.

CLAT Application Form 2019

  • The application form shall be filled only through online mode.
  • Candidates can access application form from
  • Candidates are required to register themselves first by using their valid email and contact number.
  • Candidates are required to fill all the correctly and authentic information in the application and this information must be filled carefully.
  • No hard copy of the filled-in application is to be sent to the CLAT office by the candidates.
  • Any kind of alteration/ editing in the application form by the candidate after the final submission shall not be allowed under any circumstance.
  • At the time of online application, candidates have to fill the preference order for all nineteen NLUs. Once the form is submitted no change shall be allowed by the candidates.
  • Candidates must be sure that the information provided by him/her is absolutely authentic and accurate. If the information provided by the candidates is found to be false/incorrect at any stage then the candidate will be disqualified.
  • Candidates have to upload the following document in the application form-
  1. Recent passport size photograph (should not be attested)
  2. Signature of the candidate (should not be attested
  • Specially Abled Persons (SAP) candidates have to upload a scanned copy (.PDF format) of the certificate issued by the competent authority to support the claim.
  • The application form must be filled completely in all. The incomplete application form will not be considered.
  • Candidates must submit application form before the last date to avoid the last minute hassles.

CLAT 2019 Application Fee

  • For general/OBC/PwD/SAP and other candidates application fee is Rs.4000/-
  • For SC/ST candidates fee is Rs.3500/-
  • Candidates can make payment of application fee through online or offline mode.
  • Online payment can be made through credit card / debit card/ net banking/ Ru-pay/ pay wallet etc.
  • Offline payment can be made through online generated bank Challan.
  • If any candidate opts for previous year question paper, Rs.500/- extra will be charged from them.
  • CLAT 2019 application fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable.


Only are Indian Nationals/NRIs/NRI sponsored candidates are eligible for CLAT 2019.

For UG Courses

  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 examination from a recognized board with the marks secured as per the category of the candidate, which is given below-
  1. For Unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories- 45%
  2. For SC/ST candidates- 40%
  • No upper age limit is for UG programs.
  • 10+2 appearing candidates are eligible but they must produce their evidence of qualifying examination at the time of admission.
  • Case of tie or equal marks, will be sorted by-
  1. Higher age
  2. Higher marks in the section/component on legal aptitude in the CLAT-2019 exam
  3. Computerized draw of lots

For PG Courses

  • There is no upper age limit.
  • Candidates must have passed their qualifying exam [Five-Year Integrated LL.B (Hons.)/ LL.B)/any other equivalent exams] with 45%(for Unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories) and 40% (for SC/ST)
  • Appearing candidates can also apply.
  • Case of tie/equal marks will be sorted by-
  1. Higher age
  2. The computerized draw of lots.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

For UG courses

  • CLAT 2019 will be an online exam.
  • Total 200 multiple choice questions will be asked.
  • Questions will be asked in English.
  • Total time duration will be of 2 hours.
  • Each correct answer will be awarded one mark.
  • 25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Admit Card

Admit card will be issued from April 2019. Candidates have to download and have to take printout of the same. They have to carry it to the examination centre. All the information mentioned on the admit card must be verified by the candidates before appearing in CLAT 2019.


The result will be announced in May 2019 at the official website.

Admission Procedure

Admission to candidates in the participating universities under CLAT 2019 will be granted to the candidates through an online counseling procedure conducted by CLAT office. Seat allotment to the candidate will be done on the basis of Merit-cum-preference i.e.-

  • on the basis of CLAT 2019 rank card
  • categories selected by the candidates
  • order of the preference given by the candidates
  • number of seats and their division
  • break-ups available in each participating NLU.

Counseling will be started from July 2019.
